A great walk along the trail at the river with my Grandma Ruby.
There were lots of these snails along the trail.
Getting off their tubes and swimming in the river.
Sister fight in the camper.
Beautiful light coming through the trees.
Addie and Daddy exploring the camp site.
Made it to the river bank and blew a few kisses.
Our last time to camp in this camper. We enjoyed it while we could.
Ice cream with Great Grandma Ruby.
Trying to eat corn on the cob with a loose tooth. The second one that is.
Smores time.
First day of first grade. Wow!
It was pretty chilly the first day. Addie chose not to wear a coat and then she was cold.
Izzy, Hudson, and Nolan.
Izzy and her new first grade teacher, Mrs. Robb.
Classmates, Ally, Tabitha, Kayla and Iz.
One of Izzy's good friends, Addie Bradley.
Waiting to go in.
After we dropped off Izzy we went to meet some friends for coffee. Addie came along and had hot chocolate.
Girls night out! Val, Nicole, Ana, Jaya, Carrie, and me.
We took the kids to Mommy and Minion night at Werner Park. We watched a little Storm Chaser baseball and met a Minion.
Food time!
There are bouncy houses for the kids at the stadium. Izzy and Addie went down the slide together.
We waved at the Storm Chaser mascot.
Meeting Bob!
Fireworks went off after the game.
Izzy found a little caterpillar friend. We kept him in a house for a while and then we let him go. We did put lots of flowers, leaves, and sticks in his home, but thought it was best he was out of the cage.
It's just a normal day when you get to hang out in your t-shirt and underwear.
With my new job, one of the perks is that I get to stay home on Mondays and Addie and I get to take and pick Izzy up from school. It's been great being part of this when I wasn't able to before.
Izzy's second loose tooth.
We carpool with the Camps. On days Mark takes them to school he fires up the Harley and takes them to Fire Ridge. The days were starting to get cool in the mornings and the kids would bundle up with a blanket.
Izzy and Addie got into my old costumes and played dress-up. I can't believe my mom took the time and the energy to make these awesome costumes. I don't know how she did it.
August is among us and that means back to school. The nights are still long but we have to cut them short and it's definitely a struggle to get the kiddos in. The last weekend before school started we went camping with Gamma and PopPop and Great Grandma Ruby. We went to River View camping park. Mark, my parents and the girls went floating down the river. The girls got bored. They were hot and it took too long. It was great hanging out with family and reliving what we use to do all the time....camp. We did get bitten by bugs and we all had swollen and painful feet from all the bites. The next month my grandma sold the camper and I'm sad those camping memories will be old memories.
On Monday we sent our little Izzy off to first grade. She is such a good student and was excited to go to school. She had 6 of the same girls that she had in kindergarten, in her first grade class. They are a great group of kids and I'm excited to see how they all grow. We have been having some sassy attitude from Miss Izzy. She is very emotional and wears her emotions on her sleeve. I hope this is something that passes and things don't get to her when she is older. I would hate for her to get this wonderful trait from her mother.
Addie is her funny, witty self and definitely has a mind of her own. She loves to watch TV and it's impossible to tear her away. We have taken to NOT turning on cartoons in the morning because she would never get ready for school. She even chooses TV over making sure her pants are dry. Yes, she is 3 1/2 and we are still dealing with this. Ugh!!! I know it will pass, but I want it to NOW!
Well, things will start to wind down and it will get cold. Looking forward to working on new projects with the girls.
