49 weeks (Nov 5th- Nov 11th)

This sign is actually suppose to read 49 weeks. I'm a little ahead of myself

 Cruising the furniture.

Just another typical week in the Brown house hold. Work, eat, bedtime, repeat. I feel like my days just blow by and I'm so tired. I can't remeber the last time I hung out with my close friends for fun, let alone my husband. It's just a whirlwind. Now with daylight savings over it seems like it is always dark. I'm already anticipating Spring. With these cold days and kids not getting outside the sickness is going to begin. Not looking forwad to that!"

Addie has been doing pretty well. After the daycare sickness she things have been pretty smooth. I am a little concerned because she is not eating regular food very well. She puts it in her mouth and instantly spits it back out. Daycare has also mentioned it to me that she isn't eating it well. So, I made it my mission for the weekend to try new things. She did really well with peaches and ok with green beans. Peas were definitely a no go.  Just another hurdle to get this second child of mine over. If it's not one thing it's another.

Mark went to the game on Saturday so I had a couple of girlfriends over that have kids Izzy's age. The girls had a great time and I got to have a few drinks. Relaxing, not sure, but definitely a change. We also took advantage of the beautiful day that day and took Addie's one year pictures.

Izzy is her usual self with being as sweet as can be one minute and my challenge the next. Love her to pieces. She keeps me on my toes and allows me to practice self control. :).

Hope all is well.

48 weeks (Oct 29th- Nov 4th)

48 weeks! She's almost there!

Trying to do a photo shoot in their coordinating outfits. As you can see, it's not going so well.

Still not!

 Maybe a smile!

 Guess not!

Here are a few of our decorations on the house.

Photo shoot number two went a little better.

 Sebatian the lobster.

 Ariel and Sebastian

Ariel, Sebatian, and Izzy the Pirate.

You can see that this porch is a little foggy. They had a fog machine in the front yard and the girls were scared to run through it. They finally worked up the courage to run through the smoke and get their treat.

My hand numbing design. Izzy wanted Ariel to match her.

Ugh! It has hit again. Not only has Addie vomited on Saturday, school is now calling that she has diarrhea and can't stay at school. There is a big bad bug going around school and they sent 30 kids home on Monday and another 10 on Tuesday. What are we going to do for work? Well, at least Mark's schedule happened to be flexible and then Grandma D. came to help on Wednesday. Boy oh boy. It just stinks it's during the fun Halloween time. At least she is in good spirits and so far so good on the diaper rash.

Wednesday was Halloween and our friends the Mulligans came and brought minestrone. It was delicious, but of course my picky Izzy wouldn't eat it. How do you get kids to broaden their eating horizons? After we ate we took Ella and Izzy around the neighborhood. Addie only lasted a couple of houses. The girls were really cute and took turns ringing the door bell. They would leave the house going, "Ok, the next one is all you. How adorable!

This week while Barb was staying with us Addie was imitating like crazy. Any noise you made she would make it too. I was getting her to say Hi. It was so cute. She is just doing so much. It's crazy.

This weekend, Mark and I started feeling under the weather. We were achy, tired, the sweats, and nauseous. Barb also felt that way too. I don't know if it was the same bug Addie had or not, but I do know if I felt that lousy she must of felt ten times worse. We just laid around and watched the outrageous Husker game. We won again by the hair of our chiny chin chins. AGAIN!

Have a good one,
Ari

47 weeks (Oct 22nd-Oct 28th)

Happy 47th week!

Cutest Little Mermaid ever! When in costume you can only call Ariel.

 The class.

I went as Cleopatra to the Halloween Party. It was fun having black hair for a change.
Addie is growing leaps and bounds. She is moving like crazy. Pulling up on all the furniture and cruising around with no limits. It’s funny how she and Izzy have been following the same schedule of development.  Addie is a little needier. She wants to be held all the time or you need to sit right there and play with her. Even though I don’t get anything done, I need to treasure these moments because soon enough she won’t want me around.
She is still sick. The cough just won’t go away. Mark took her to the doctor on Thursday and they put her on an antibiotic. She doesn’t like it and spits it right back at me. Then to make matters worse she got the bug going around school. She vomited twice on Saturday and followed it up with diarrhea. The poor girl just can’t get ahead. No wonder she wants to be held all the time. She never feels good. I think it’s time to get her to another specialist. We’ve been to ENT and allergy. What next?

Izzy is her cute witty self. She is doing well at swim lessons. When she swims to the wall she goes real slow and just under the surface, but she makes it to the wall all smiles. She also made it down the slide by herself again this week. Of course she thought she needed candy because she did it all by herself. That girl and candy are going to be a problem. She wants it for breakfast!
Izzy and I have definitely started having our battles. On Tuesday she didn’t want to go to bed so I lifted her up on her bed and she fell forward and hit her head on the wall. Instantly she was angry and said, “You are mean, GET OUT! I quietly ducked out and thought to myself, “I don’t think that will be the last time I hear that.

On Saturday, Mark and I got to have some fun time. Unfortunately it wasn’t together. He went down to the Husker game and had a great time. Especially with the W. I went to the neighbor’s Halloween party. Thanks to Gamma and PopPop we were able to do that. I had a riot at the Halloween Party and went as Cleopatra. It was fun to have black hair for a night.

Izzy has a thing about going to Heaven. The other night I was talking about my friend Ashley that lives in Australia and how she wasn’t here and Izzy asked me if she was in Heaven. Then Friday night when my parents were here she told them they had old hands and they were going to Heaven. We laughed about it and told her thanks for letting us know that’s where they were going. Kids think and say the funniest things.
Well, I’ll keep you updated on the girls soon. Hope everyone is doing well.

PS Congrats to my friends, Mari and Scott, on having baby Vedder! Love ya!

Lazy Sunday.

This week was pretty tame. I got to take the day off and go to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch with Izzy’s class. Mark met us there. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to meet some of the classmates’ moms. Izzy had her usual busy week of swim and dance. It’s only going to get busier.
Addie is still pulling herself up well and now she is cruising around the furniture. She is developing in leaps and bounds in only a week.  It’s unbelievable.

Saturday we all watched the Husker game as a family and it was nice just to be around the house. Hope you are all doing well and we will talk soon.

45 weeks (Oct 8th -14th)

This is a first. I did not take a single picture this week. Ugh how frustrating. I didn't get one of every week for my pricious little ones year. But, I did keep track of what happened this week...

Addie is as cute as ever. She is real smiley and talks jibber all the time. She is still needy and hates it when you put her down in front of her toys and walk away to do something. She wants you to hang out and play with her. Can you blame the girl? She hasn’t been going to sleep very well. She is real tired after school and falls asleep eating dinner. Then when you try to quietly and carefully change her into her jammies and put her in bed she wakes up and is wired for the next hour. She also has her fourth tooth coming through on the bottom. That could be adding to the problem. Oh help me Lord, when will I ever get the laundry done when this child won’t sleep? She is also pulling herself up very well and holding on to the furniture. She will be cruising before we know it.

Izzy is also as cute as ever. I might be a little biased, but I’m allowed. Things that she says are “We can do it like a family.” She also says “anything” when she means “nothing.” “Izzy what are you doing in your room?” Her reply is, “Anything.” Also when she wants to say she already did something she says, “Just ready did.” I love to capture these little nuances so she can see how cute she was as a little girl.
Last week I had told you about the money she gave so I wouldn’t miss her while I was at work. On Wednesday she asked for it back because she missed me at school. So we gave money back so she wouldn’t be sad. I wonder what made her think four dollar bills would make me think of her. I guess it’s the thought that makes me think of her. How sweet.

On Wednesday, we also had dance lessons and we went to our weekly meal at Runza with our friends after. Izzy was drinking her milk with a straw and tilted it to get more. Needless to say the milk ended up all over the front of her. Before I knew it Izzy was stripping down in the middle of Runza. We had to talk about getting undressed in a public place. She wasn’t having it. She wasn’t going to put on her wet leo so we took it off and put her sweatshirt over the top. Good thing it was a little long and covered her toosh.
Well, thanks for reading about my wonderful adventures. I hope yours are as heart-warming and frustrating as mine. It will make you a wonderful and patient person.
