39 weeks

This is Izzy's 39 w picture. She won't leave the papers alone anymore.
Playing with the paper.

Izzy in her Easter dress playing with her favorite turtle. Getting ready for 9 month pitures.

Izzy is 9 months this week. I can't believe how time flies. Developmentally everything is the same. NO CRAWLING, UGH!, she is pulling herself up on me but other things just don't do the trick. I bought her a lion push walker and she liked it but doesn't understand that she can't just push it forward, she has to move with it. She does try to pull herself up on the lion though. That is a move in the right direction.
Nothing else new this week. I have conferences all this weekend so Mark gets to play Mr. Mom. I think he'll do just fine.

The weather is beautiful and we are trying to get outside as much as possible. Izzy and Cletus both like our walks around the neighborhood.

Tummy Time!

This girl is the queen of drooling.

Trying to get the camera.

Nothing new this week. We are still trying to crawl....all fours, no movement. We are still pulling up, but not walking while supported. She's got an awesome personality just like her Daddy. Since her new found talent is waving she does it alot. The daycare teacher said that they went on a stroller ride and Izzy just kept waving at everyone she went by. I sure love my little social butterfly.

She is growing up quickly and is already giving us attitude. When she wants you to do something or you are doing something she doesn't like, she gives out the, "uhh!" I keep telling her the attitude isn't tolerated, but I don't think she quite understands.

Hope this finds you all well and we'll talk next time. Hopefully she is crawling.

Gamma and Grandpa K. visiting and helping Mommy out while Daddy is gone.

St. Patty's Day!

Gamma and Grandpa K. came to help mommy out on Saturday while I worked. Then when I got of work we took Izzy down to the Qwest center to her first car show. She loved looking around and all the noise.

Daddy got home on Saturday night and it was good to have him back. Sunday was just a veg day. Izzy started to wave hello/good-bye this week. I thought maybe it was just a flook, but she's done it mulitple times since. She is still pulling herself up on me, but crawling still isn't happening. She is getting closer by being on her hands and knees but the movement concept hasn't sunk in yet.

We are currently free and clear of the ear infections but we have a nasty cough. We went to the doctor and they just said it was a virus with drainage. If it is still persisting in a week or so then we'll have to do some chest xrays.

I just got done reading this really interesting book called the Unhealthy Truth and have decided to try and clean up our eating habits. I bought as much organic as I could to see how we manage. We will have to probably have to make adjustments in the future (because it is expensive), but until I can figure out what is ok to keep normal, I will keep investigating. Hope you all had a good week and we'll talk soon.

A little John and Richie....had a blast!

Sarah and I at the concert.

beginning of 36 weeks

Another week in a blink of an eye. At the end of 35w and beginning of 36 w Izzy started to pull herself up by grabbing my arms and lifting herself up. Maybe she'll walk before she crawls. She's just getting so big.

On Friday we went to our friends', the Darlings, house and they have two little girls. Another couple, the Hoy's, were also there and they have a boy and a girl. Izzy was in heaven with all the attention. Those little girls were my very attentive babysitters for the night. We had a great time. It was nice to get out with some friends.

Daddy was gone this week for work in New Orleans so it was a mommy and Izzy week. On Tuesday I had a girls' night with my good friend Sarah. We went to Bon Jovi and had a blast. It was just what the doctor ordered. Mark's mom and Bob came to Omaha and babysat for the evening. They took care of her the next day so she didn't have to go to daycare and mommy could sleep in a little. We are very greatful for grandmas and grandpas. The rest of the week Izzy and I had girl time. We really missed Daddy and all his help.

Talk soon,
Ari

35 weeks

Izzy loves paper can't keep her hands off and out of her mouth.
Just want to squeeze her.

Izzy in her movie star coat.

We came back in the middle of Izzy's 35th week (8 months on the 25th). She seemed like she had grown so much. She was kind of unsure who Mark and I were at first but then warmed up very quickly. While we were away my parents worked on her saying "dada." She had said it to begin with and then went to "mama" and that was all she said. I told my parents to work on "dada" and now that is all she says. It's good to know it is still in there somewhere. I also had them work on crawling. Lots of tummy time. She still can't figure out the crawling thing. She gets herself propped up on her arms and can't figure out how to move. She just keeps pushing herself backward and she gets really frustrated. I suppose it will come soon.

While we were away her top two teeth really started to come in. Now she has her two top teeth and her two bottom teeth. She'll be chomping away in no time. Now hopefully the food allergies I am suspecting don't turn out to be anything. Again it is to my amazement how fast my little one is growing. I just can't stand it. Hope you are all doing well and we'll talk soon.

For Izzy's 34th week Mark and I were in Hawaii. It was our first trip away from Izzy except for overnight. It was hard to leave her, but I knew she was in good hands. Mark and I enjoyed our first few days in Hawaii and then we started to miss her. There were lots of little kids in Maui and it was a constant reminder of our little "Pooh."
We stayed in Maui for a week and it was just beautiful. We lounged on the beach, drove up a Volcano, went whale watching, and paddle boarded in the ocean. I would love to go back again. It was nice for the two of us to get away.
We Skyped with Izzy on the Friday before we came home. She was all jabber and smiles.
Thanks mom and dad and Barb and Bob for taking good care of our most prized posession.
