January 2015

Us, Camps, and Smiths all went to 7M for New Years. The food was delish.

Out for one at VegaLou's before we have to head home.

Great friends and good times.

Izzy and Cletus with the New Year hats that Izzy made.

For Christmas the girls got a vanity and make has now been all the rage. This is me and Addie with my make over from Izzy. Not too shabby.

Izzy out enjoying the beautiful weather we have had this winter. Not many times can you spend a day at the end of January with no coat on.

I love this beautiful little girl.

Boy this year is off to a quick start. This first month was here and gone before I could blink my eyes. I honestly can't remember what the days brought this month. I do know we started it off right with great friends. For New Year's Eve Camps, Smiths, and Mark and I went to dinner and out, then back home to watch the ball drop.  The girls were up waiting because Izzy wanted to make it until midnight. She didn't quite make it. Addie....well of course she made it. The kid never goes to bed. When Izzy woke up the next morning she was disappointed and asked if she wouldn't be able to see it until she was 23. I told her it would probably be sooner than that. Be patient my child.

We took a month off from activities. Izzy doesn't like swimming lessons and gymnastics hurts. So we are taking a break to see what she wants to do next. She tells me she wants to take voice lessons and soccer. Addie is ornery as ever, and one of these days I'm going to get her to do what I ask her to do. She plays on ailments like it's her job. She also told me that she didn't have any friends anymore because she wasn't sweet. Her teacher was telling me a different story. She said the boys were fighting over her on the play ground and who was suppose to marry her.

I took the last Friday of winter break off to spend some time with the girls. We went to the movie Annie and the girls loved it. They are still singing the songs. It was a modern day Annie and I told them they had to watch the original, "It was better." They didn't agree. On the way to the movie a car cut me off and I said "Jesus Christ." Izzy told me that the nice way to say that was "OMG!"

The following week Mark kept thinking he saw something black and flying in the garage. He said he had a migraine so maybe he was just seeing things. A day or two later her said that there was a cat in the garage. He had to go to work and said he would get it when he got home. Our neighbors came over with kitty food to help lure him. He was tricky to find and then to catch. They finally got him and took him home. They named him tip because he had frost bite on his tail. They still have him and is a great addition to their family.

Towards the end of the month Mark went to Florida on a work trip and the girls and I just hung out with lots of family. I again took that Friday off because, Lord knows, I would have been a monster trying to get both girls out the door on time. Thursday night Great Aunt Cindy and Great Uncle George came to visit. It was nice hanging out with them and catching up. The girls loved it. Next, Aunt Trish, Uncle Dave and Kami came for the weekend. We cleaned out closets and enjoyed their company.

The last week in January, Izzy was Star Student. We had to make a poster, take her favorite book, write her a letter, and share her favorite show and tell. She is always a star to me. Her desire to read is amazing. She could sit there for ever, until she figured out all the words.

I can't think of anything else now. Talk next month.
