March 2013

Daddy went and got us all ice cream to enjoy.

I can't wait until they become the best of friends and share a wonderful bond I never got to experience.

Finally, we get to go outside.

Addie loved playing on the slide.

Disney on Ice's second in place, Rapunzel.

 Alice in Wonderland.

Mad Hatter

 Capt. Hook

 Peter Pan

 Tinker Bell
Jasmine and Aladdin

Getting ready to help Rapunzel.

Holding the lantern.

A hug from Rapunzel...priceless.

Here comes trouble.

Love you.

The kids were playing with colored bubbles and one popped on Maia's face. If you look close you can see the green.

Bubble time....OUTSIDE! Jaycee, Finn, and Iz.

Time to dye the Easter Eggs. What a mess.

Jaycee came to help.

Showing off glitter fingers.

Masterpieces.

Lazy Sunday and sister is over playing with the big kids.

Bunny ears from the Bunny.

Izzy said she loved the Easter Bunny so, so, so, so much because he brought her Pink Shoes movie.

Found 'em.

Are they in here?

Addie just roamed around the yard.

My little pouter. We've seen this a lot this third year.

The man cave.

Oh, Miss Addie....I love you dearly but you are going to put your mother 6 feet under. The poor babe is sick again. She is back on antibiotics for 20 days (yes you heard me right, 20 days)! Then if no improvement we need to start looking at different things like auto immune testing. Well the 20 days past and two days later she was sick again. School called and she had a 101.2 fever. Ugh! So next step, lab work. Through all this though she is a happy baby that eats and sleeps pretty well. Thank the Lord Jesus for that blessing. Addie is getting her last two bottom teeth and the top are budding. The poor thing is drooling like a hound.

Izzy is as witty as ever. She graduated from Aquatyke II and is now in III. This little munchkin is swimming the width of the pool with face in the water and using her arms well. I always like to throw in a few "Izzyisms." Here they are.....

"Mom, I think my tummy will hurt tomorrow and I will wake up with the flu. I probably can't go to school."

We were late to swimming lessons again and I was ranting on the way. Izzy started singing her cute little "Tiny Turtle" song and asked if that song made me happy. I said, "Mommy loves that song." So we are making  our way to class and I start going off again about how class has already started so Izzy needs to hustle in and get her flippers. She goes, "Mom, I thought "Tiny Turtle" made you happy!" Boy, I just need to stop and look at the simple things that make life grand, like "Tiny Turtle."

Great re-invented words and phrases from Iz: "Learned it to myself," Punzel (Rapunzel), Oscipcle (Popsicle), "Just ready did" a.k.a. already did.

At the end of the month, Gamma, Izzy and I went to Disney on Ice. We had gone the year before, but this year she seemed so much more interested. All the princesses were there and she was in Heaven. While we were sitting in our seats a gentleman from the sound booth came over and asked Izzy if she wanted to help Rapunzel release the lantern into the air. She was quietly excited. She wanted more than anything to meet Rapunzel but she seemed very nervous. She did a great job and got a hug from the Princess. While we were there Gamma bought her a long braid to wear and she wears it daily now and we have to call her "Punzel."

He did it! Mark got the basement finished in time for March Madness. It looks great and he did it all on his own. The only help I gave was to keep the girls out of his hair...maybe I should say, "out of his way." We are thoroughly enjoying the space. The part I like best is having carpet to play on with the girls. There are going to be many great memories to come in that beautiful basement.

As for me I turned another year older this month. It seems I turned 35 and the wrinkles appear over night. I ran out to the store and purchased wrinkle creams with no care of how much it was going to break me. I didn't want wrinkles. Well, two weeks into it, nothing looks different. The wrinkles are still there every morning. Hmmmmm...........

For my birthday we made the annual trip back to GI for the horse races. This year we spent way more than we won, but it was a great time with friends and family. We got to stay one extra night in GI because a blizzard came through and closed the interstate. We started out and quickly realized we were going nowhere. I was actually really scared because you could feel the car sliding and we had no control over it. It was even worse because the girls were in the car with us. So Mark shot in between two semis, took the median and we headed back to GI. I will never attempt that again.

Easter came early this year at the end of March. We had a nice little Easter with Cletus catching the Easter Bunny leaving baskets in the morning on the deck. After opening the baskets we headed off to church, followed by a great local brunch at Heartland in Old Elkhorn. Lastly we went back and searched for the eggs the bunny left. Addie didn't really get to interested, but she sure loved being outside.

Hopefully warm weather is around the corner and you are all doing well.
