October 2015

I got myself a new camera and have been having a ton of fun using it. My mom has always wanted a picture of the girls dressed as angels so she could make a canvas and use it for Christmas. She made their little dresses from pillow cases and we bought wings last Halloween on sale. We finally got around to taking the pictures and I really like how they turned out.

A couple of years ago we had some pictures taken in Grand Island and one was the girls with my Dad's 1956 Bel-Aire. When he got his new Ford he wanted another with the girls. So I tried my chances again at trying to get a good pictures of the girls. Again, I love my new camera.

This is the picture he ended up making a canvas of and hanging in the garage.

PopPop and his car.

Playing with my camera and trying to get some DIY photos for Christmas. This is the girls with their friends the Smith Boys.

Our family.

The same weekend we all went to the pumpkin patch with Gamma and PopPop. It was a great pumpkin patch and I would do it again for sure. This is a picture of the girls having breakfast before we go for the day.

They got out my old Barbie house and played for a long time.

This was a bounce house at the pumpkin patch.

Lots of awesome slides.

Gamma even did it!

So did PopPop!

These were little barrels turned into train cars. They were all pulled by a little tractor.

Me, Izzy, Addie, and Gamma in the Wizard of Oz faces.

The corn box.

Izzy was filling her shirt with corn, making herself have a belly. When she emptied out her shirt we found all this corn in her pants.

The jumping bubbles were a hit.

Izzy was brave and did the big kid zip line.

Picking the perfect pumpkin,

PopPop and Addie wore out.

Later that day we went to the park to take my Dad's car pictures.

PopPop helping Izzy with the monkey bars.

Gamma and the girls after the photoshoot.

Izzy showing Addie how to make a heart with her hands.

Before we left GI we went to Grandma and Grandpa D.'s house and we picked some tomatoes and peppers.

The following Friday, Izzy was brave and got her ears pierced.

The next weekend we got to enjoy a day in the back yard.

Our old buddy Cletus.

My little rockstar!

Showing us her dance moves.

The next day our neighbors Shelley and Kraig had a pumpkin carving party. Mark got all the pumpkins ready to carve.

While the girls relaxed. Hmmm.

All the loot.

I am so far behind it's not even funny. I don't know how life gets so busy. All I do is go to work, dinner, and bedtime. Then I'm too tired to do anything else. I even have an awesome husband that picks up, cleans, goes to the grocery store, and does the dishes. I just don't feel like I have it in me. What is the matter with me? Some tell me it's busy mom syndrome. Is that really a thing?

Anyway, Fall is in full swing and we are plugging along. We love Halloween and we were excited to have parties and be with friends. Finding the right costume usually starts in September for us. The girls chose to be Mal and Evie from the Disney movie, The Descendants. They looked adorable. This year was a little different. We usually go with the Mulligans and Snodgrasses, but they stayed in their neighborhoods this year. It gave us a chance to go with our neighbors and it was really fun. Gamma, PopPop, and Grandma Ruby came to hand out candy so Mark and I could go with the girls. Mark has a vintage Harley Davidson golf cart he rides around in every Halloween with creepy tunes and flowing spirits. He also stays  close by to run home the unplanned, "I have to potty." After our friends called it a night, Mark, Izzy and I drove around visiting friends in the area. We went to the Azadi's and stopped off at the Browns'. It was a really fun night and beautiful weather.

Izzy continues to do basketball and loves it. I haven't seen her so excited about something yet, so it makes my heart happy that she likes it. She is playing with girls from her 1st grade class and Scott Brown and Bob Bankus have taken time out of their schedules to teach the girls. Mark also takes Izzy and helps coach where he is needed. He says it's definitely a challenge. Izzy is doing great in school and loves to read. She is looking a little more like me, but unfortunately we also have very similar personalities and push each other's buttons. I'm a little scared of the teenage years. It's been fun to watch her grow though.

Then there is Addie. She is funny, witty, and watches waaay too much TV. We have troubles getting her down to sleep and I was considering melatonin. I was telling her about it in the car, on the way somewhere, and her response was, "It won't work on me!" Oh boy, she is a tough one. Also she is very dramatic (so is her sister). The girls have been into the Descendants and there is often a video that plays on the Disney Channel. It is Evie singing "Rotten to the Core." Addie will sing her heart out to this song. Closes her eyes, squishes up her face, and moves her hands and hips to the music.

Football is all consuming and we have managed to make it to a few games. The girls even went with us to a game this year. I can't remember when it was so I will look for the pictures. Hope every one is doing well and I will try to move on quickly to November.
