 The Browns and the Camps.

Lazy Sunday.

This week was pretty tame. I got to take the day off and go to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch with Izzy’s class. Mark met us there. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to meet some of the classmates’ moms. Izzy had her usual busy week of swim and dance. It’s only going to get busier.
Addie is still pulling herself up well and now she is cruising around the furniture. She is developing in leaps and bounds in only a week.  It’s unbelievable.

Saturday we all watched the Husker game as a family and it was nice just to be around the house. Hope you are all doing well and we will talk soon.

45 weeks (Oct 8th -14th)

This is a first. I did not take a single picture this week. Ugh how frustrating. I didn't get one of every week for my pricious little ones year. But, I did keep track of what happened this week...

Addie is as cute as ever. She is real smiley and talks jibber all the time. She is still needy and hates it when you put her down in front of her toys and walk away to do something. She wants you to hang out and play with her. Can you blame the girl? She hasn’t been going to sleep very well. She is real tired after school and falls asleep eating dinner. Then when you try to quietly and carefully change her into her jammies and put her in bed she wakes up and is wired for the next hour. She also has her fourth tooth coming through on the bottom. That could be adding to the problem. Oh help me Lord, when will I ever get the laundry done when this child won’t sleep? She is also pulling herself up very well and holding on to the furniture. She will be cruising before we know it.

Izzy is also as cute as ever. I might be a little biased, but I’m allowed. Things that she says are “We can do it like a family.” She also says “anything” when she means “nothing.” “Izzy what are you doing in your room?” Her reply is, “Anything.” Also when she wants to say she already did something she says, “Just ready did.” I love to capture these little nuances so she can see how cute she was as a little girl.
Last week I had told you about the money she gave so I wouldn’t miss her while I was at work. On Wednesday she asked for it back because she missed me at school. So we gave money back so she wouldn’t be sad. I wonder what made her think four dollar bills would make me think of her. I guess it’s the thought that makes me think of her. How sweet.

On Wednesday, we also had dance lessons and we went to our weekly meal at Runza with our friends after. Izzy was drinking her milk with a straw and tilted it to get more. Needless to say the milk ended up all over the front of her. Before I knew it Izzy was stripping down in the middle of Runza. We had to talk about getting undressed in a public place. She wasn’t having it. She wasn’t going to put on her wet leo so we took it off and put her sweatshirt over the top. Good thing it was a little long and covered her toosh.
Well, thanks for reading about my wonderful adventures. I hope yours are as heart-warming and frustrating as mine. It will make you a wonderful and patient person.

44 weeks (Oct 1-7th)

Addie on the first day of her 44th week.
Izzy cheesin' it up.
Everything is done princess style at our house, even Halloween crafts.
 Princess Izzy
 Princess Ella
Addie and I cheering on the Huskers before I passed out for the night. I fell asleep before the second quarter. Sad!

Well I stayed home with Addie for three days of this week. The diarrhea didn’t get any better and the diaper rash was horrible. It had opened, weeping sores. She screamed every time I walked into her bedroom with her. She knew her pants were getting changed and it hurt like heck. We did lot s of baking soda baths, and lots of air drying. I took her back to the pediatrician because the one at urgent care seemed to be a bit of a moron. Dr. Anglim gave us another compound with an antibiotic in it and said we should go back on Elecare. NOOOOOOOO! Come to find out three other kiddos in her class also had the same thing. I will finish out the Elecare she gave us and then go back. We’ll see what happens.
Wednesday, Mark stayed home with the girls in the morning and I took the afternoon shift. He was telling me that he and Addie got up earlier and Addie was just talking away. Izzy pipes up, “She’s too loud, and I can’t sleep.” Mark replied, “Ok sleepy head, just sleep the day away.” He shut her bed room door. Addie proceeded to babble and soon enough, Mark heard, “It’s nooot worrrkinnnng! She’s too loud!” I got a kick out of how grown up that sounds. What a peanut.
After staying home with the girls for three days, Thursday was hard to leave them at daycare. I was a little teary eyed and Izzy kept asking what was wrong. She had gotten $4 from Mark a while back ago and she had them in her hand and said, “Here mommy you can have these to remember me by and not be sad.” That made me even more teary eyed. I sure love that little girl.

Mark took Iz to swim lessons on Tuesday and she went down the slide by herself. That is a huge accomplishment. Every week, she would climb the stairs and sit at the top of the slide, and sit, and sit, and sit. Then she would come back down the stairs. This time she did it all by herself. You should have seen how proud she was of herself. Yay Izzy!

On Friday, we rushed home after daycare to help watch the little neighbor girl. She is the sweetest little petit thing that doesn’t like to be somewhere unfamiliar. She cried and cried. She finally warmed up to me, but as soon as I would pick her up to comfort her, Addie would get mad. She didn’t like it that I was paying attention to someone else. My friend Heather came to help. She was a life saver. She made dinner and helped with Izzy. She brought her older daughter to play with Izzy. Once Livie went to sleep she was great and she was really easy to put to sleep. Boy how Friday nights have changed!

Hope yours was a good one,

Ariann

43 weeks (Sept 24th-30th)

Addie hanging with dad on the first day of her 43rd week.
The school is teaching the kids about the rodeo and they had cowboy day. This is Izzy belting out something, giving it her all.
 Cow-sisters!
Izzy wanted to know if I had chaps.
Husker day at school!

This was one of the days we let Addie air out her bottom and her and Cletus just hung by the door.

Monday of this week started out with a bang. It was bike day and I forgot. I had to hussle to drop everything off and go to get Izzy’s bike. Then I got back and they asked if I had food for Addie. Crap! No food! Off again, back to the house for food. It’s amazing I wasn’t late for work. This was a good indication of how my week was going to go. Ugh!
Addie got her first fat lip. She was still a little wobbly in the crawling department at the beginning of the week, and went over head first into the floor. Her tooth caught her lip and it even started to bleed. Poor baby! Now she is crawling everywhere like crazy and into everything. Let the sounds of, “Mom, she has my…..” ring throughout the Brown house.

Addie also got sick late Friday. She had a BM while she was sleeping and that is unusual for her. The next day she kept having runny BM’s. Let the diarrhea begin. I hope it’s not the spaghetti I gave her on Thursday (She loved it). I felt horrible leaving her for the day so Mark and I could go to the game. She was with Grandma D. so she was in good hands. On Sunday, the diaper rash had gotten so bad I took her to urgent care and they gave me a compound diaper cream to help with neutralizing the BM. Hope it works. Her butt looks like hamburger. Guess I’m staying home from work tomorrow.

On Tuesday, my good friend Jill’s dad passed away. He was a big part of all our lives. Always around and joking with us when we were at Jill’s house. I felt horrible that I couldn’t work it out to be there, but I surely sent my sympathy. Bob will be missed.
Hopefully things get better and we will talk soon.

42 weeks (Sept 17-23rd)

Addie playing with the 42 week poster.
Probably won't get another picture with the number of the week in it with her. She always takes it and starts playing with it.
My little reader. Izzy loves books.
Izzy's friend, Jaycee, getting pretty like a princess.
Izzy following suit.
The girls watching cartoons. That was as much attention I could get from them for a picture. Cartoons always win out.
 My baby. Getting so big.
Izzy and Finn playing kitchen. Finn would be the perfect husband for Iz. He does everything she tells him to do. Poor Finn.
Taking a break from her crawling. It's slow going but she's getting it.
And she's off....

It was another busy week of activities for Izzy. Swim, Dance, repeat…. It’s not too bad though. All the activities sure make the week go fast. Izzy, even enjoyed tap class this week. She wasn’t covering her ears. I’m not sure how excited she is about dance. Maybe we will do gymnastics and soccer next year.
On Thursday, Small Miracle had an open house and book fair. It was great to see the little things Izzy does in class. The books were great too. They started putting a lot of paper backs at the fair making it a lot more affordable.

My little Addie finally started crawling. She is still a little timid but making progress. She was 42 weeks and 5 days. One day older than what Izzy was.
My parents came down to help with the basement. My dad brought his friend Dean to help with the electrical. It is finally starting to come together. I’m so excited to have the extra space.

Hope all is well and we will talk soon.

41 weeks (Sept 10-Sept 16)

Hanging with Daddy!

Sisterly love!

Izzy loves her babies. She always names her babies Addelyn. When she talks about Addie she doesn't call her, her sister, but her baby.
Skinned her nose at the neighbors'. I showed up to get her and this is what I saw.

Goooo Biiig Red!

 Having lunch on the deck.

Addie getting all fours but no movement.

Our Sunday short order cook.

Nothing is new with Addie. She is still saying DaDa, MaMa, Uh oh (limited) and lots of jibber. We have started eating a little bit more solid foods. I am cutting up bananas and avacados and she loves them both. Addie is still just pulling up to a standing position with my assistance and only perching on all fours, but not moving forward. Hopefully she gets there soon. One thing Addie can do is push herself up to a sitting position after lying flat on her tummy. I think that is a pretty good accomplishment for that little peanut.  Another thing this week is that she started kicking in the tub like Izzy did. She sits in the water and kicks like a motor boat. She loves her baths.
This Wednesday, I had a half day so Izzy and I spent the afternoon together. She has been behaving much better. It’s like night and day. I went to the dentist and then went and got her. We then went to Izzy’s dentist appointment. She had a good report except that she had trauma to her front tooth. I always thought the tooth looked a little discolored, but I just thought it was from juice or something. I have no idea what she could have done to that tooth. So we just have to watch it closely and make sure it doesn’t get infected.

After the dentist we went to Old Navy and then to Orange Leaf. She picked out her yogurt and all her toppings and only ate like three bites. I was shocked that she didn’t eat it all up. I guess it’s not her thing. I should have just given her chocolate and it would have been gone in a heartbeat. After all that we went and got Addie and then got ready for dance. While we were getting ready for dance Izzy was telling me how she is a big girl. “No more paci, big girl panties, and being a nice girl, so I’m big now. Are you sad?” I tell her that when she grows up I will be sad she’s not my baby anymore so she constantly stands up tall and asks if I’m sad. Well, this time  I must of said I was sad without pouting my lip and she called me out on it. “Mommy, if you are sad you need to pout your lip.” I love this girl.

Later this week we were visiting at the neighbors’ and Izzy wanted to play with Finn. The first thing she said to Finn when he came out was, “My mommy said we can’t kiss anymore.” I just started to laugh. My girl is learning.
TTFN,
Ariann

40 weeks (Sept 3-Sept 9)

My big girl. She has grown so fast.

Bath time!

So pretty!
Monday was Labor Day and we all went to the Safari. The girls actually did pretty well on the car ride although half way through Izzy was very uninterested. It was just a great way to kill a couple of hours.
Addie has a cold again. That poor girl is always snotty. She needs a break. But through all of is she is happy. She is still trying to crawl. We haven’t gotten much further. She is still on all four, but her foot gets caught and she sits back down. She still loves standing, but is not actively pulling herself up on anything but when I help her.

Izzy had another busy week with swim lessons on Tuesday, dance on Wednesday, and then we went to a Matilda Jane party on Thursday. We have started dance at a new studio this year called Dancer’s Edge. She loves it because her friends Ella Mulligan and Avery Snodgrass are in it. She is also in tap class this year. That is something new for her and I’m not sure she is a big fan. She said it was too loud and she only wanted to do ballet.
Saturday we had a block party with families just on our street. It was great. I met a lot of new people and they all seem wonderful to hang out with and there were lots of little kids for Izzy and even Addie to play with. Then we went to a birthday party and watched Nebraska lose to UCLA.

Hopefully a better game next week Huskers.
