Pizza at Dantes!

Level 3 swim lessons.

Addie getting her first lesson. She loved it.

All of us neighbor girls getting ready for a birthday dinner at Marks. Liz, Ellie, Val, Me, and Louise.

I took the girls to Cinderella. Of course they had to dress up.

The first of this month was a very special day for the girls. They got to go to Cinderella's birthday party. They got to talk to all the princesses, sing songs, dance and have cupcakes for the birthday. They loved it.

Swimming lessons also started up for the girls. This is Addie's first lesson and she loved it. I took the poor girls a week early and they were told their lessons hadn't started yet. They were sad that they didn't get to swim. They were REALLY ready to swim the following week. Both did a great job.

I turned another year older this year. Mark set up the annual Fonner Park get together with friends and family for my birthday. Mark was a big winner on the last race. After we all went out to dinner.

For St. Patrick's Day the girls got dressed up in their green and had a fun day at school. Izzy was on Spring Break so she went to Small Miracles with Addie. Her teacher, Ms. Seffy, painted her face like a leprechaun. Then we went a picked up daddy from his long day of events and had pizza at Dantes.

The week after Spring Break, I got to be the mystery reader for Izzy's class. I read the book Ribbit. It's about a pig just wanting to find good friends. Then I did a craft with the class. We attempted to make frogs, but I didn't realize, what took me 10 minutes to make, takes more than a half an hour to a kindergartner. The best part was seeing how excited Izzy was that I was there.

Spring is here and I'm ready for the sun to shine on my face.

February 2015

Fire Ridge had a snow day and our neighbor, Val, was so sweet to take Izzy for the day.

Izzy and Maia having a ball.

The whole gang. They have become second family to us.

Inside warming up with a bowl of snow ice cream.

This is a picture Izzy drew of herself. She was spot on with the outfit and everything.

Playing in the snow for the second time. All the neighbors had a fun time. The weather was actually nice so it was enjoyable.

Izzy and Maia trying to get a path in the snow so they would slide faster.

Our first snowman. He had a great face this year thanks to cousin, Kelsey Martin.

Taking a break to make snow angels.

Hudson taking a turn.

Now Nolan.

This is a great picture of how happy these kids are, just being kids.

Deep thoughts.

We went home to celebrate my Mom's 15th birthday.

The girls got their first manis and pedis

After this we went shopping and out to dinner at the Saddle Club. Its was great spending time with one amazing woman.

Whew! These last couple of months have flown by and February was no different. It is actually April 1st and I'm just getting to this. My memory is a little foggy of what happened then. Good thing I wrote a few things down.

This was Izzy's first year to make a true Valentine's box. She chose to make a purse, and off to Michaels we went to buy the supplies. It was fun to watch her get creative and be so proud of her creation. Izzy has also been begging to take voice lessons and she had her first one at the end of the month. She loved it. Next on the agenda is to persuade her to play the guitar and not a ginormous piano. Not that I wouldn't love for her to play the piano, but a guitar is much easier to store. My little girl is growing up so much it is unbelievable.  Kindergarten has sure made her a mature little lady.

Then comes Addie. My little bull in a China shop. She is definitely sassy and strong willed but will snuggle with the best of them. She didn't have the terrible twos, but the thunderous threes have set in. She throws tantrums, stomps her feet, and says no more days than not. But like I said she has that sweet side. One night Mark had to work late so I threw the girls in bed with me. When Addie thought Izzy and I were asleep, I saw her lean over and give her big sister a kiss. My heart melted. Then one night I was laying with her (yes, I have to lay with her still at bed time) and I sniffled. She said," It's ok mommy, I have boogers too." I thought it was so cute. She is going through the same stage that Izzy did with only wearing dresses. Not only that, it has to be tights underneath too. No leggings. One day Mark let her wear a princess dress up dress to school and she was so proud. Mark said she walked into school with her coat all unzipped so everyone could see her dress. He said she walked through the daycare door with quite a strut. They are funny little creatures, aren't they?

Mark and I got away for a few days. I had a continuing education in Kansas City and Mark went with me. Its always a good couple of days away from the hustle. We had dinner with friends and a good Valentine's night out. While we were away, my parents came to Omaha to watch the girls (thanks Gamma and PopPop). They took them to the zoo and had a great time. Izzy told Gamma and PopPop that the reason the monkey room stunk was because they didn't wipe their butts and their vaginas. My dad couldn't stop laughing when telling us this story.

At the end of the month the girls and I went back to GI for Gamma's birthday. We went to get pedicures and out to eat. It was fun to spend quality girl time.

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and give your loved ones a squeeze.

January 2015

Us, Camps, and Smiths all went to 7M for New Years. The food was delish.

Out for one at VegaLou's before we have to head home.

Great friends and good times.

Izzy and Cletus with the New Year hats that Izzy made.

For Christmas the girls got a vanity and make has now been all the rage. This is me and Addie with my make over from Izzy. Not too shabby.

Izzy out enjoying the beautiful weather we have had this winter. Not many times can you spend a day at the end of January with no coat on.

I love this beautiful little girl.

Boy this year is off to a quick start. This first month was here and gone before I could blink my eyes. I honestly can't remember what the days brought this month. I do know we started it off right with great friends. For New Year's Eve Camps, Smiths, and Mark and I went to dinner and out, then back home to watch the ball drop.  The girls were up waiting because Izzy wanted to make it until midnight. She didn't quite make it. Addie....well of course she made it. The kid never goes to bed. When Izzy woke up the next morning she was disappointed and asked if she wouldn't be able to see it until she was 23. I told her it would probably be sooner than that. Be patient my child.

We took a month off from activities. Izzy doesn't like swimming lessons and gymnastics hurts. So we are taking a break to see what she wants to do next. She tells me she wants to take voice lessons and soccer. Addie is ornery as ever, and one of these days I'm going to get her to do what I ask her to do. She plays on ailments like it's her job. She also told me that she didn't have any friends anymore because she wasn't sweet. Her teacher was telling me a different story. She said the boys were fighting over her on the play ground and who was suppose to marry her.

I took the last Friday of winter break off to spend some time with the girls. We went to the movie Annie and the girls loved it. They are still singing the songs. It was a modern day Annie and I told them they had to watch the original, "It was better." They didn't agree. On the way to the movie a car cut me off and I said "Jesus Christ." Izzy told me that the nice way to say that was "OMG!"

The following week Mark kept thinking he saw something black and flying in the garage. He said he had a migraine so maybe he was just seeing things. A day or two later her said that there was a cat in the garage. He had to go to work and said he would get it when he got home. Our neighbors came over with kitty food to help lure him. He was tricky to find and then to catch. They finally got him and took him home. They named him tip because he had frost bite on his tail. They still have him and is a great addition to their family.

Towards the end of the month Mark went to Florida on a work trip and the girls and I just hung out with lots of family. I again took that Friday off because, Lord knows, I would have been a monster trying to get both girls out the door on time. Thursday night Great Aunt Cindy and Great Uncle George came to visit. It was nice hanging out with them and catching up. The girls loved it. Next, Aunt Trish, Uncle Dave and Kami came for the weekend. We cleaned out closets and enjoyed their company.

The last week in January, Izzy was Star Student. We had to make a poster, take her favorite book, write her a letter, and share her favorite show and tell. She is always a star to me. Her desire to read is amazing. She could sit there for ever, until she figured out all the words.

I can't think of anything else now. Talk next month.
